Lastnight I watched a video where an Audi fitted with the V6 tdi had a rattling sound in the engine. Only done 96000km and when opened up the timing chain tensioner wear blocks were broken and badly worn. Quite scary for such low mileage! Chains also slightly stretched. Quite a job since the chains sit at the back of the engine and makes it
Engineoil. Engine oil capacity: 8.2 litres (8.7 quarts) Manufacturers recommended timing chain replacement interval for Audi A8 3.0 diesel is 300,000 km. the Audi A8 2002 3.0 TDI quattro timing chain change interval is approximately 200,000 km as at this mileage it may become overstretched and require replacement,
Yes the one with the EJ25 engine that had a nearly 100% failure rate for head gaskets. Other than that problem, it was a great car. Looking online, Subaru officially says to replace the timing belt every 105,000 miles: Now on to Audi. This document which looks like its officially from Audi says 105,000 miles.

Laborand parts for the timing chain tensioner was $4k but that was covered by warranty company. The rest of the guides, rails, timing chain, I just had to pay ~$700 for OEM parts, but labor was covered in that $4k. I have the 3.0 TFSI and I just did the timing chains on my engine at 205k. It’s a motor out repair.
Prospectivebuyer for an A5 Coupe, 3.0 TDi (245) S-Tronic. Ideally a 2014/2015 face-lifted model with no more than circa 60k miles on the clock. I've done a fair bit of research and overall the 3 litre diesel does get a good write-up in terms of reliability, however the recurring theme with it's problems would appear to be the timing chain
Keepin mind Audi produce 2 3.0 litre engines, one being a petrol unit while the other is a common rail single turbo with twin intercoolers. I owned this particular model until only 3 months ago. The 2007 model Audi A6 3.0 litre V6 tdi and I can assure you this engine does NOT have a timing belt, it runs a series of timing chains.

Pre3/2013 models: If your BMW 3 Series was produced before March 2013, there’s a slightly higher likelihood of timing chain problems as BMW made a small update to the timing chain design afterward. N20/N26 engines: These engines, placed in BMW 3 Series models from 2011 to 2017, seem to be a touch more susceptible to timing chain

AllAudi Q7 engines have timing chains from the model years 2007 to 2023. All Audi Q7 engines from 2007 to 2023 are interference. Timing belts have a recommended replacement interval, while timing chains are generally rated for the engines lifetime, although they need to be inspected occasionally. Year Engine Belt Or Chain

AudiA5. Timing Belt Basics The primary purpose of the timing belt or timing chain is to maintain the timing (syncronization) between the crankshaft and the camshaft(s).. A timing belt is made of a rubber compound while a timing chain is made of chain similiar to a bicycle chain. A timing belt wears out over time and must be
Therecommended interval for timing belt replacement varies between 60,000 and 120,000 miles depending upon the year and engine size of the vehicle. On 2000-2001 1.9L TDI engine, with manual transmission, replace timing belt every 60,000 miles. On 2000-2001 1.9L all TDI engines, replace timing belt every 105,000 miles. On 2002

20T VW and Audi TSI Timing Chain Tensioner Problems - Deutsche Auto Parts I can confirm that a 2.0 tfsi with engine build date 9/11/2012 has the new style tensioner from factory. Replaced timing chain and installed new tensioner (vice the old one that failed) on my 2012 A4 B8 with 85K miles. Reassembled per specs with all
Hiall, I am considering purchasing a 2017 or 2018 Audi A7 3.0 TDi 272bhp black edition. I have been researching for any common problems with this model/engine and there are a few mentions online of issues with rattles from the timing chain due to worn tensioners. Has this issue been resolved with the later 2017/2018 3.0 TDi 272 engines? Theengine has 160,000 miles on it, i have read that at 200,000 miles the timing chain should be done. I have took the gearbox off and removed timing chain covers from the rear of the engine Can

2009A6 3.0 TDI Quattro 110,000 miles. One cam is not rotating due to broken timing chain. Engine in car still. Garage unsure of the labour or work involved.

3Post (s) Re: TDi 170 - Belt or Chain – 11-02-2010, 07:57 PM. Guys as one of the forum members said the "owners manual book" you have it is worth to read it. The 170BHP TDI engine is with BELT, the changing interval is 180 000Km forgot the years and about the mileage you can calculate it. 0 0 0.

Thosemust be the parts for a serpentine belt and high pressure pump belt replacement. Far too few for the 4 timing chains and associated hardware. Nothing there for the hours required to r/r the transmission to get to the back of the engine and the chains. Here's a partial list of timing chain related parts: Chains: 059 109 229 J 059 109 229 K
