My car has just done this, refusing to start and giving me all sorts of errors when it was running. All this 4 weeks after spending £2500 for a new ECU and other works to be carried out. Citroen garage have said it's the Engine Fuse box which is at fault. Is this the BSI? Reason I ask is I was told the BSI was fine when it went in originally.

Note-if you blank the egr a fault code will be logged in the engine ecu but it should not bring on an engine light on the dash and will eliminate any egr valve faults. Hello everybody, This morning on the way to work, my C4 Grand Picasso 1.6 hDi (year 2009) saddenly went to Limp Mode and cut-out the engine. It also showed a message on the dash: 'Engine Faulty:Repair needed'.

Having a bit of a nightmare with my 1.6HDi Grand Picasso. Had a new turbo about 12 months ago, new clutch end of last year. When it drives and it's cold it drives fine, when you come to a stop e.g. traffic lights etc if you go to accelerate quickly it basically won't, it's like it's getting nothing from the turbo, the revs slowly build up and the engine sounds rough, it won't make the top end

Joined: Aug 07 2006. Location: Northumberland. @aburcay - it's highly likely that the air bags have failed and if left for to long leaking, the compressor works too hard and burns out. The ECU failing is rare as is the ride height sensor which can cause issues with the suspension not raising.
Check the battery, if it is flat Citroens seem to give a ESP/ASR fault. Before starting the engine it ought to be 12.7 volts, if much lower it needs charging. Once running it should be about 14.4 volts, if not the alternator might be faulty unless you have a smart alternator which varies the voltage depending on demand but with the lights on

My 58 plate diesel VTR Grand Picasso keeps coming up with an 'Anti Pollution System Faulty' fault whilst driving causing the engine to cut out. A warning light will also come on in the top left of the screen. The car will always start again straight away, but that isn't much help if you're hurtling down a motorway.
